"What does it mean for a preacher to be relevant?
For us here at CHBC, to be relevant means to connect. We normally think of relevance as being contemporary, clever, extremely creative or having a bevy of illustrations that finally bring the point home. However, those are not the criteria for relevance. The criterion is one bottom line issue: did I create a medium whereby God's word could connect with the real-life situations of the listeners?
The measurement is connection. I do my best to make sure that you have "tools" from God's word to take away with you. If not, I have fallen short of making the most relevant message in the world relevant to you.
